Anti-infil grid strengthened after inputs of increased infil attempts : DIG BSF

Srinagar: The security measures have been heightened across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, with multi-tier arrangements, intensified surveillance, and area domination exercises underway across the Union Territory, officials said.
Official said that security arrangements have been intensified across all 20 districts, particularly focusing on border areas, in preparation for the Republic Day celebrations. Officials have implemented increased security measures, including vehicle and pedestrian frisking, especially in the regions of Kashmir and Jammu. A substantial deployment of security forces has been established along the International Border and the Line of Control to avert any potential incidents. In urban centers like Srinagar and Jammu, security checks have been intensified at critical locations to ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations. Advanced surveillance systems, such as drones and high-resolution CCTV cameras, have been installed to monitor key areas effectively. Additionally, area sanitization and domination exercises are being conducted in vulnerable regions to further enhance security. The Director General of the CRPF, G P Singh, held a high-level security review meeting in Jammu, concentrating on strengthening counter-terrorism operations. He assessed the current security landscape, operational readiness, and the importance of coordination among security agencies to address emerging challenges effectively. In response to intelligence reports of increased infiltration attempts, the Border Security Force (BSF) has bolstered anti-infiltration measures in the Bandipora sector of north Kashmir. The BSF has intensified surveillance and ground deployments, utilizing drone technology and increased foot patrols in vulnerable areas. Multi-layered anti-infiltration grids have been established in collaboration with the Army to monitor border movements. BSF units are also operating at high-altitude locations, maintaining readiness to ensure security and normalcy during the Republic Day celebrations despite challenging terrain and weather conditions.
