Preparations for celebrations of Mehraj-ul-Alam 2026 reviewed at B’gam

Budgam : A meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mehraj-ud-din Shah, to finalise arrangements for the ensuing auspicious occasion of Mehraj-ul-Alam 2026 in the district.

The meeting discussed threadbare preparations to be made for the celebrations of Shab-i- Mehraj and responsibilities were assigned to different departments.

At the outset, the ADC directed District police to ensure security a the places such as Peth Makhama, Charar-i-sharief, Pakherpora shrine and other major shrines of the District during the celebrations of the festival.

Further, the ADC directed KPDCL Budgam for un-interrupted power supply and ensuring functioning of street lights at all significant places.

He instructed EOs of concerned Municipal Committees to carry out special cleanliness drives and proactive measures for proper sanitation in all areas.

Health authorities were instructed to ensure availability of staff and ambulances at all sub centers and ensure medical assistance at all designated places.

With regard to availability of ration, the ADC directed AD Food to ensure timely supply and distribution of food grains, besides ensuring availability of essential commodities to the general public.

The ADC also directed the ARTO to ensure hassle free availability of transport facility on the auspicious days and directed him to coordinate with the traffic department so that bottlenecks in smooth flow of traffic are removed.

During the meeting, the ADC directed the Department of Jal Shakti to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply. They were also directed to provide additional water tankers at identified locations to augment the capacity.

To check illegal profiteering and hoarding in the markets, the ADC directed SDMs to constitute squads who will monitor and conduct market checking drives to ensure sale of quality food items and check any hoarding or overpricing.

Besides, CPO Budgam Javaid Ahmad Najar, all SDMs, DFO, CMO, Executive engineer PDD, Jal Shakti, AD FCS&CA, AD Fisheries, DSP HQ, Budgam; EOs of Municipal Committees, representatives from Animal and Sheep Husbandry, and Cooperatives were present in the meeting
