Public grievances redressal camp held at Khari, DC resolves several public issues on-the-Spot

Ramban: In continuation of weekly public outreach initiative, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan Wednesday convened a Mega Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Khari to listen to public issues and resolve matters of public interest on the spot.

The camp was attended by DDC Member, Chief Planning Officer Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajran, ACD Sheraz Ahmed, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers and other district and sectoral officers.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that education is the cornerstone of societal development and urged parents to prioritize their children’s education. He directed the Chief Education Officer to closely monitor the online classes initiated to address the shortage of teaching staff, particularly to benefit students in rural and far-flung areas.

Responding to public grievances, the DC assured speedy completion of all road projects in the area. He instructed the BDO to ensure proper sanitation of Khari Nallah and appealed to the public to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness of water bodies and surroundings.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the ACD to ensure completion of Panchayat Ghar Khari-B and the release of pending payments under PMAY-G and MGNREGA. Directions were issued to the Executive Engineer, JPDCL to provide poles and transformers to strengthen the power infrastructure and verify electricity bills and to the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department to ensure timely completion of water supply projects under JJM and other schemes. He also directed bankers to disburse all loan cases sanctioned under Mission YUVA within the prescribed time.

He assured an ambulance for Khari, instructed the CMO to deploy staff at PHC Mangit and make the X-ray machine functional and directed the AD FCS&CA to organize a special camp for issuance of BPL ration cards. The DC stated that issues regarding the opening of a fire station, commencement of SRTC bus service, installation and functioning of mobile network towers, filling of vacant posts and additional accommodation at GHSS Khari, among others, would be taken up with the concerned authorities.

Earlier, locals appreciated the Deputy Commissioner for resolving most of the issues raised in previous camps. The District Administration also felicitated officers and officials for their outstanding performance under the Aspirational Block Development Programme in Block Khari.
