Ganderbal : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, who is also Chairman District Health Society (DHS) to discuss District Health Action Plan (DHAP) for the year 2026-27.
The meeting was convened to review and approve the District Health Action Plan (DHAP) for the year 2026–2027, aimed at strengthening the delivery of quality, accessible, and equitable health services across the district.
Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal through a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the proposed DHAP 2026-27 highlighted key health priorities, sector-wise proposed interventions, physical and financial planning, human resource requirements, infrastructure strengthening, and priority health programmes under NHM, besides budgetary requirements for the district.
The presentation also emphasized focus areas such as Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC), Non-Communicable Diseases, Maternal and Child Health, Disease Surveillance, National Health Programmes, and capacity building of health institutions.
After detailed deliberations, the DC emphasized the need for strengthening health service delivery and issued directions to enhance the budget under certain priority activities to ensure better outreach, quality of care, and effective implementation of NHM programmes across the district.
He stressed for effective inter-departmental coordination, timely implementation, optimal utilization of resources to achieve tangible improvements in health indicators and close monitoring of all approved activities to achieve the desired goals under NHM.
The meeting was attended by all members of the District Health Society, including Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat/ Development, Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal, Medical Superintendents of District and Sub-District Hospitals, Block Medical Officers, officials of DPMU Ganderbal, and other concerned stakeholders.
