Srinagar : Police in collaboration with Tourist Police Station Srinagar on Thursday conducted a verification and checking drive of homestays and guest houses in the Humhama area of Budgam.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that during a recent inspection, several homestays and guest houses were identified as operating without valid registration. The properties involved include Cozy Heaven, Sheikhpora; Haji Guest House, Humhama; Sukoonat Gah; ARCO Residency, Humhama; Welcome Homestay, Humhama; Zabeel Villa; and Homestay by Ishaan, ARCO Residency. In response, police initiated preventive action under Sections 126/170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023 against the owners of these establishments. Fines were specifically imposed on Haji Guest House and Welcome Homestay for their non-compliance with registration requirements. In its statement police emphasized importance of compliance with applicable laws, urging all homestay and guest house owners to secure the necessary registration from relevant authorities to avoid legal repercussions.
