Jammu: Police on Thursday said that it has solved two separate fatal hit-and-run cases registered at Police Station Tarzoo and Police Station Sopore through thorough and systematic investigation, leading to the identification and arrest of the accused persons involved.
In a statement issued here on Thursdat Police said that in a first hit-and-run incident at Seer Crossing, a scooty rider named Nazir Ahmad was critically injured after being struck by an unknown vehicle. He was transported to SKIMS Srinagar for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The investigation, led by the Investigating Officer, involved a thorough examination of CCTV footage, which ultimately resulted in the identification and arrest of the perpetrator. Similarly, another hit-and-run case was reported at Hatlangoo Crossing, where a pedestrian, Abdul Majeed Dar, was grievously injured by an unknown scooty rider. Despite immediate medical attention, he also later died from his injuries. The Sopore Police conducted a diligent investigation, utilizing technical analysis and field verification, which enabled them to trace, identify, and apprehend the individual responsible for this incident.
