DDC Poonch reviews Capex Budget 2025–26, CSS, UT Sector schemes

DC directs timely execution, optimal fund utilization to accelerate distt dev

Poonch : District Development Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma Thursday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress under the District Capex Budget 2025–26 along with Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and UT Sector schemes.

The DDC conducted a detailed sector-wise review of ongoing and upcoming developmental works across the district. Key projects reviewed included the Parnai Power Project, solar panel installations, major PWD works, PMGSY and NABARD road projects, blacktopping works, irrigation and flood control measures, road and bridge works.

Special emphasis was laid on the tendering and allotment process, with the DDC stressing the need for expeditious tendering and allotment to avoid delays. He also reviewed the status of handpumps across the district.

All the Executive Engineers briefed the DDC on the status of executed, ongoing and completed works in their respective departments.

Emphasizing timely execution, the DDC directed all departments and executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure completion of projects within the stipulated timelines. He underscored the importance of achieving both physical and financial targets, calling for optimal utilization of available funds to strengthen overall developmental outcomes in the district.

The DDC urged officers to work with dedication and close inter-departmental coordination to address bottlenecks and accelerate progress across all sectors.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Shama Un Ahmed, SE PWD (R&B), Mehmood Ahmed, SE Hydraulic Circle Poonch, Vipan Kumar, ACD, Shakeel Ahmed, ACP, Rakesh Kumar, CEO, Mukhtar Manhas, CMO, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, CEO Municipality, Khalil Ahmed Banday, Tehsildar Headquarters, Pallvi Verma, XEN PWD (R&B), XEN PMGSY, XEN REW, XEN JPDCL, XEN Ground Water and other concerned officers.
