Shopian: In a significant outreach initiative, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta Wednesday presided over a Block Diwas program held at Kanjiuller Shopian, aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and ensuring timely redressal of public grievances.
During the programme, a large number of people from various Panchayat halqas of the block participated in the programme.
The DC patiently heard the grievances and passed on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments for immediate redressal. Issues related to Block-level services, including, mecadamization of Narva Shali Chek Shamsipora road, dumping site for Garbage lifting, repairs of Padsoo link road, bridges, Power, agriculture inputs, JK Bank services, Jal Shakti, PHCs, Ration cards and other essential facilities were discussed in detail.
The DC emphasized coordinated efforts among departments to ensure prompt service delivery and accountability. He directed officers to dispose of pending cases within stipulated timelines, ensure field-level follow-up and maintain regular public outreach to address genuine concerns of the people. Special emphasis was laid on improving service delivery, transparency and citizen satisfaction.
