Bandipora : Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bandipora-1 on Saturday organized an Awareness Campaign on VB-G RAM G (Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) on Saturday.

The programme was undertaken with the objective of disseminating information on the objectives, provisions, and scope of the scheme among rural stakeholders and strengthening the linkage between rural employment and livelihood-oriented activities.

The VB-G RAM G scheme has been introduced in place of MGNREGA with an enhanced wage guarantee of up to 125 days per household, emphasis on creation of durable assets, development of rural infrastructure, and convergence with agriculture and allied sectors, in alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat.

The awareness activities were implemented through a coordinated extension approach, which included integration of scheme-related information into ongoing KVK training programmes, conduct of village-level goshties and walking seminars, and dissemination through extension literature and digital platforms. Field-based interactions and group discussions were organized at village locations to facilitate direct engagement with farmers and rural households.

The village goshties and walking seminars included discussions on livelihood opportunities, wage guarantee provisions, and creation of durable assets under the VB-G RAM G scheme, along with sensitization on its objectives and implementation framework.

During the programme, Dr. Tariq Sultan, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Bandipora-1, delivered a brief lecture outlining the salient features of the Vikshit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission and emphasized the importance of community participation and effective implementation of the scheme at the grassroots level.

Subject Matter Specialist (Vegetable Science), highlighted the scope of the programme in strengthening vegetable-based livelihoods through labour-intensive horticultural activities and improved production practices.

Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science), elaborated on the relevance of the scheme in supporting livestock-related activities, including fodder development, animal housing, and allied income-generating interventions.

Resource persons briefed the participants on the role of the programme in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and creation of durable assets supportive to farm productivity. They interacted with the participants and emphasized the importance of awareness, capacity building, and inclusive participation of rural households, particularly women, in availing the benefits of the scheme.
