Awareness Prog on PMVBRY, Labour Codes held in B’gam

DC directs awareness, compliance to strengthen employment generation, Labour Welfare across Distt

Budgam: An awareness programme was organised by the District Administration Budgam to review the rollout and implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) and the Four Labour Codes, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) budgam ,Dr.Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat.

Besides , CEO Budgam ,CEO Municipal Committee Budgam, Executive Engineers of R&B, Jal Shakti, and REW divisions, ALC Budgam, and AD Handicrafts Budgam, the programme witnessed active participation from stakeholders of Government and private establishments enhancing awareness regarding labour welfare schemes, statutory compliance, and employment generation initiatives.

During the session, detailed presentations were made highlighting the objectives and benefits of PMVBRY, particularly its role in job creation, skill support, and extension of social security coverage to workers across various sectors.

Key provisions of the Four Labour Codes covering wages, industrial relations, social security, and occupational safety, health and working conditions were also elaborated upon for better understanding and effective implementation.

While chairing the programme, the DC Budgam underscored the importance of creating an informed ecosystem among employers and implementing agencies to ensure that the intended benefits of labour reforms and employment schemes reach the grassroots level.

He said that PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana has been envisaged as a significant intervention to promote formal employment, incentivise employers, and strengthen the social security framework, thereby contributing to inclusive economic growth.

The DC further stressed that awareness and compliance with the Labour Codes are essential for ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, industrial harmony, and protection of workers’ rights, while simultaneously facilitating ease of doing business.

The DC said that coordination between Government departments, private stakeholders, and implementing agencies is crucial for the successful rollout of these initiatives. Directions were issued for continued outreach programmes and regular engagement with stakeholders to address implementation challenges and clarify procedural aspects.

The DC said that District Administration is commitment towards effective implementation of labour reforms and employment-oriented schemes, in alignment with national priorities for a developed and inclusive India.

The initiative was widely appreciated by participants for strengthening awareness, promoting statutory compliance, and fostering a collaborative approach towards labour welfare and employment generation in the district.
