JKTPO organises Export Awareness-cum-E-Commerce onboarding drive in Ang

Anantnag: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) Wednesday organised an Export Awareness-cum-E-Commerce Onboarding drive in Anantnag.
The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the District Administration Anantnag, ODOP Team, DPIIT, APEDA, ECGC.
The primary objective of the workshop was to empower local MSMEs, artisans, SHGs, FPOs, and entrepreneurs by equipping them with comprehensive knowledge on export-related schemes, procedures, and the benefits of digital commerce platfor
The event aimed to connect local producers and artisans with national and international markets through digital platforms and to get well acquainted with the different schemes of the Centre and State Governments.
At the outset, Manager JKTPO highlighted the pivotal role of JKTPO in organising district-level outreach programmes to promote ODOP and facilitate seller’s onboarding on e-commerce platfor
General Manager District Industries Centre, Anantnag, while addressing the participants said that District Anantnag has a great potential of exports in Trout fishes, Cricket Bats, and scentedrice (Mushkbudij). “Trout fish is selected as ODOP (One District One Product) from district Anantnag with immense potential for exports and other allied derivatives. District Administration is working in full swing with Government and other export institutions to boost exports and make District Anantnag a hub of exports for its potential products under District as Export Hub Initiative”, he added.
Rahul Sharma, Branch Manager, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) explained the role of Credit Guarantee Bank, Credit Risk Insurance and related services for exports and gave a detailed insight on how exporters can safeguard their shipments and money for exports.
Likewise, Business Development Consultant, APEDA, provided valuable insights into APEDA’s role in promoting agricultural exports and explained the registration process and documentation requirements.
The role of FIEO for Indian Exporters include market research and trade information, and the procedure for obtaining the Import Export Code (IEC) was also elaborated. The participants were given necessary guidance to update their knowledge by explaining to them about various Government of India Export-related schemes like MEIS.
More than 120 artisans, exporters, and FPO representatives from Anantnag district participated in the workshop. The event witnessed enthusiastic engagement, with participants actively interacting during the sessions and expressing keen interest in onboarding their products.
The initiative is part of JKTPO’s ongoing efforts to promote exports from all districts of Jammu & Kashmir under the Districts as Export Hubs scheme and the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.
