DC G’bal reviews arrangements for Republic Day-2026 celebrations

Kishore directs to ensure fool-proof , meticulous arrangements for befitting celebration of the National Event

Ganderbal : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, Wednesday chaired a comprehensive meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the forthcoming Republic Day-2026 celebrations in the district.
The DC conducted a detailed review of all key preparations to ensure a successful and well-coordinated event. The arrangements discussed included preparedness of the main venue, podium and stage setup, security and traffic management, seating and transportation facilities, barricading, uninterrupted power supply, stationing of water tanker and ROs, parking, deployment of ambulance and medical staff, deployment of fire tenders, public address system, sanitation, refreshments, and decoration of prominent buildings.
It was informed that the main function will be held at Qamaria Stadium, Ganderbal, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest.
The programme will feature a ceremonial march past by contingents of the District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, IRP, PTS Manigam, Forest Protection Force, along with students from various educational institutions.
The DC also emphasised proper arrangements be made for a vibrant cultural performances on the occasion of Republic Day.
He stressed the need to ensure fool-proof and meticulous arrangements for the befitting celebration of the nation event.
The DC also directed that flag unfurling ceremonies be carried out across all government offices in the district prior to the main function to mark the occasion. He further emphasized the importance of the National Flag unfurling and instructed officers to ensure strict adherence to the Flag Code and the National Anthem protocol.
The meeting stressed cleanliness, proper illumination of Mini-Secretariat and other government offices. Special emphasis was laid on public convenience, smooth crowd management, and emergency preparedness.
Departments were assigned specific responsibilities, and monitoring committees were constituted to oversee execution on the ground and ensure timely completion of all arrangements.
Additionally, the DC directed to ensure that Republic Day celebrations at subdivision and tehsil levels are organized smoothly.
Meanwhile, the Mechanical Engineering Department, Municipal Council Ganderbal and other agencies were directed to ensure snow clearance beforehand at main and other function venues in case of snowfall for hassle free celebrations.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Fahim Bihaqi; Additional SP Ganderbal, Superintending Engineer R&B, SDM Kangan, Assistant Commissioner Development/Panchayat, Chief Medical Officer, CEO Municipality, Executive Engineers of various wings, ARTO and other concerned officers and officials.
