Upgraded Dialysis Unit Hits 8,000 Treatments; Provides 60 Daily Sessions

Srinagar : Paras Health Srinagar has significantly enhanced its renal healthcare services by doubling the capacity of its dialysis unit through the addition of 11 new dialysis machines. This expansion allows the hospital to conduct up to 60 dialysis sessions daily, which will lead to faster access, reduced wait times, and continuous care for patients reliant on regular dialysis.
The upgrade is timely, given the rising cases of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in Srinagar and surrounding areas. The hospital has already completed over 8,000 dialysis sessions, highlighting the increasing demand for reliable renal support. The expanded unit aims to alleviate the burden on patients who often encounter travel difficulties and limited availability at other facilities. Dr. Murtuza Habib, Facility Director, emphasized the growing need for dialysis in the region, noting that many centers are operating at full capacity. The expansion directly addresses this gap, ensuring timely care for patients without interruptions. This development strengthens the renal care framework in the Valley, allowing patients to access high-quality treatment locally. Dr. Aadil Beigh, Director of Nephrology, pointed out the importance of regularity in maintenance dialysis, as even a single missed session can lead to serious health complications.
The larger facility will enable better management of patient flow, prompt responses to urgent cases, and a more stable treatment environment for long-term dialysis patients. The upgraded unit features advanced dialysis technology, enhanced infection-control measures, and a specialized team of nephrologists and technicians, reinforcing Paras Health Srinagar’s position as a leading provider of renal care in the region. This development aligns with the hospital’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality treatment and improving long-term outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease.
