Ramban: Continuing the public outreach initiative with a special focus on remote and far-flung areas of the district, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Wednesday conducted a comprehensive public outreach camp at Panchayat Karma in Block Batote.
The outreach camp was attended by a team of senior district officers, including ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, ACD Sheraz Ahmed, Chief Medical Officer, CAO, CAHO, CHO, Executive Engineers from PWD, Jal Shakti, JPDCL and PMGSY, AD FCS&CA, ALC, BMO, Tehsildar Ramban, BDO Batote, BMO, other officers from various line departments and public representatives.
During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to the issues and demands raised by the locals and resolved most of the public grievances on the spot. He directed the Executive Engineer PWD to immediately commence the sanctioned road works and instructed the Tehsildar Ramban to conduct a site visit to remove bottlenecks hindering the execution of the road project.
Addressing power-related concerns, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer JPDCL to ensure timely completion of power infrastructure augmentation work, including the installation of two transformers, more than 200 electric poles and other requisite material.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the BDO Batote to take up all genuine development works pertaining to basic civic needs highlighted by the residents. He also directed the executing agencies to construct protection walls and retaining structures at identified vulnerable locations to safeguard public infrastructure.
To improve water supply, the Deputy Commissioner directed Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, to ensure adequate drinking water supply to religious places and other public utilities. The BMO was asked to depute a medical team along with doctors and essential medicines to provide healthcare services at the doorsteps of the people.
Meanwhile, the locals raised issues including upgradation of Shampa–Dhanu Road and Dalwas–Sawani Road, construction of a link road for Ladha Dhar, augmentation of water supply schemes, opening of a bank branch, shortage of staff at educational institutions and health centres, installation of a BSNL tower, construction of drains and footbridges.
The Deputy Commissioner resolved most of the grievances on the spot and assured that all remaining issues would be addressed in a time-bound manner and issued necessary directions to the concerned officers for prompt redressal.
Earlier, all the departments sensitized the people about schemes of their respective departments.
