Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested two persons in Pulwama and seized significant quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during a routine naka checking near a petrol pump in Marvel, police apprehended two suspects despite attempting to flee. The suspects were found carrying a nylon bag containing over 7 kilograms of a semi-grinded cannabis-like substance. The supects have been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Sofi from Budgam and Raju from Kolkata, West Bengal. Following their arrest, they were taken to the police station and remain in custody. The police have registered a case under FIR No. 81/2025 at Police Station Kakapora, and an investigation is currently underway .
In its statement Police emphasized its commitment to combat drug trafficking and protecting the youth from the dangers associated with drugs.
