Jammu: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo Monday released three books authored by Prof. Manoj Nazir and Ridhima Koul.
The Chief Secretary commended the authors for their publications, emphasizing their importance in raising awareness about biodiversity, floriculture, and climate-related challenges in the ecologically sensitive region of Jammu and Kashmir, which has often been overlooked in mainstream discussions. He acknowledged the authors’ efforts in documenting these critical yet neglected topics through both scientific and literary means. The released books include “Alchemy of the Red Rose” and “The Impact of Climate Change on Flowering,” both authored by Prof. Manoj Nazir and Ridhima Koul, as well as “Manoj Nazir: The Man Behind the Gladiolus Revolution in India,” authored by Ridhima Koul and Dr. Jyotsana Maurya. Prof. Manoj Nazir is recognized as a leading scientist in floriculture, particularly noted for his role in the Gladiolus Revolution in India, which has significantly influenced scientific progress and flower cultivation practices. Ridhima Koul, a biotechnology researcher, focuses on bridging scientific research with public understanding, particularly in the fields of floriculture and plant sciences. Dr. Jyotsana Maurya, also a biotechnology scholar, has made substantial contributions to the study of medicinal plants and floriculture through her extensive research and publications. Together, these authors contribute valuable insights into the intersection of science and environmental awareness.
