Jammu: A special train between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will operate from December 12 to 14, as per Jammu Division of Northern Railway, which operates special trains for the convenience of passengers and to meet the growing demand of passengers.
Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division in a statement said to meet the growing demand of passengers and provide significant relief to devotees visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, it has been decided to run a special train, number 04081/04082, between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from December 12 to 14.
“This allows the railway to provide better facilities to passengers and facilitate their travel during periods of increased demand,” he added.
Special Train No. 04081: New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, December 12 to December 13 (Two trips)
This special train will depart from New Delhi at 11:45 pm on December 12 and arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 12 noon the next day.
On the route, the train will stop at Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu, and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur) railway stations, he said.
Special Train No. 04082: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi, December 13 to 14 (two trips). This special train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 9:20 pm and arrive in New Delhi at 10am the next day.
On the way, the train will stop at Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, and Panipat railway stations.
About the special train running periodically in the Jammu division, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Singhal, stated, “This special train is being operated to provide better travel options for passengers.
The operation of this special train will also increase the chances of passengers getting confirmed tickets during peak seasons, he said, adding, “this is a reserved special train, which will be operated with 20 coaches. Passengers can book tickets through the official Indian Railways website/App or authorized agents.
Passengers are requested to obtain accurate information about the train timings before commencing their journey, he said.
