Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has attached a three-storeyed residential house along with 1 kanal of land, valued at approximately ₹2 Crores, under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said The property in question is owned by one Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, the father of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a known drug peddler linked to a specific case under the NDPS Act. Investigations revealed that the property was acquired through illegal drug trafficking proceeds. Consequently, the competent authority initiated attachment proceedings under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, ensuring compliance with legal protocols by involving an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses. As per the attachment order, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat has been prohibited from selling, leasing, or altering the property in any way that could create third-party interests. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to dismantle drug networks and enforce strict measures against those involved in drug-related activities.
