Cluster University of Jammu Volleyball Team Flagged Off for North Zone Inter-University Tournament

Jammu: The Cluster University of Jammu proudly flagged off its Volleyball (Men) Team for participation in the North Zone Inter-University Tournament being organized by the Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh, scheduled from 09th to 12th December 2025. The send-off ceremony was held on the university campus, marking a moment of motivation and encouragement for the young athletes. The team was formally sent off by Ms. Ankur Mahajan (KAS), Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu, who extended her best wishes to the players. She emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, and determination in shaping well-rounded personalities and highlighted the growing sporting culture within the University.

The ceremony was graced by Prof. D. S. Manhas, Dean Students’ Welfare, and Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director, Physical Education, whose consistent support and guidance have strengthened the University’s sports ecosystem. Dr. Bakshi is the force behind providing all technical mentoring throughout the tournament to bring out best talented players.

The University team comprises talented players Jatin Rayaan, Udhay Kumar, Amit Kumar, Mohd Asif, Chaitin Singh, Nitin Manhas, Aftab Ahmed, Nitin Singh, Rajat Singh, Ayush Mahajan and Nehal Kumar, who have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and teamwork during training sessions. Their selection reflects not only their individual abilities but also the evolving sporting excellence nurtured at the Cluster University of Jammu.

Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. (Dr) K S Chandrasekar in his message, appreciated the efforts of the players and the Department of Physical Education. He stated that participation in national-level tournaments enhances students’ confidence, broadens exposure, and strengthens the University’s commitment to promoting youth development through sports. He expressed hope that the team would bring laurels to the University with their performance.
