Srinagar : The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) recently hosted a specialized seminar on Satellite Antenna Technology, featuring Prof. Soumyabrata Chakrabarty, a prominent expert in antenna engineering and space communication systems.
Prof. Chakrabarty, who holds a position at the Department of Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE) and is a Scientist/Engineer at the Space Applications Centre (SAC) of ISRO in Ahmedabad, focused on advanced antenna concepts, emerging trends in space technology, and the practical challenges faced in satellite communication. The seminar was attended by key figures including Dr. G.R. Beigh, Head of the ECE Department, and Prof. Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Head of Training and Placement, along with faculty members and students from ECE and CSE (AI/ML) who are interested in antenna research. Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia expressed appreciation for the initiative, highlighting the importance of interactions with senior ISRO scientists in inspiring students to explore the potential of India’s space and communication sectors.
