Grand Finale of Shopian Idol Season-2 Concludes with Enthusiasm

DC Shopian applauds finalists, felicitates winners

Shopian : Grand Finale of Shopian Idol Season-2 was held Friday at Government Degree College,Shopian marking the culmination of second edition of annual District Level talent show for aspirant singers of the district.

The event, a major youth- oriented talent initiative was organised by the District Administration Shopian under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta under the banner of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.

Seven finalists of the Shopian Idol enthralled the audience with the scintillating singing performance and exhited appreciable level of competitiveness and talent.

Athar Bin Khursheed was declared as Winner of Shopian Idol Season-2 who was felicitated with a trophy, appreciation certificate, and a cash award of Rs. 8000.

Aashiq Ahmad Wani and Manzoor Ahmad Shah, adjudged 2nd and 3rd position holders were also felicitated with certificates, trophies and cash prizes of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively.

In his address, the DC congratulated the Winner of Shopian Idol Season 2 and other finalists and commended the participants for their outstanding talent, creativity and confidence.He said, platforms like Shopian Idol play a critical role in identifying young talent and encouraging the youth to pursue positive and productive endeavors.

He further highlighted the importance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, stating that constructive engagement of youth through arts, sports and cultural activities is essential for building a healthier and Drug free society.

The season two of the Annual Singing Talent Competition saw registration of more than 80 contestants who participated in series of stages,culminating in the selection of 7 finalists.

The event was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; Principal GDC Shopian, Dr. ( Prof.) Shafiq Ahmad; GM DIC, Shurjil Naik (coordinator) of the event, district officers and mammoth gathering of local people and staff.
