KVIB Budgam holds Awareness-Cum-Interaction Programme at Soibugh

B’gam: The Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (J&K KVIB), District Office Budgam, organized an Awareness-cum-Interaction Programme Saturday at Block Soibugh Budgam.
The event was attended by the representatives from DIC Budgam and LDM office, senior officials from J&K KVIB, Branch Head J&K Bank Soibugh, Branch Head SBI Soibugh, representatives from local Block office, and other officials from line departments.
The programme aimed to inform and sensitize the rural as well as urban unemployed educated youth, aspiring entrepreneurs, artisans, beekeepers and other stakeholders from Block Soibugh and adjoining areas about self-employment opportunities and schemes such as PMEGP and JKREGP.
Speaking on the occasion, District Officer KVIB Budgam highlighted the role and relevance of successful and smooth implementation of schemes being implemented by J&K KVIB in mitigating unemployment amongst the youth and artisans. He asked the educated youth to come forward and avail benefits of the employment generation programmes being implemented by J&K KVIB.
Participants received guidance on project formulation, loan procedures, and available government support.
Addressing the gathering, the District Officer KVIB Budgam, highlighted financial assistance schemes, employment generation programs, technical training and marketing support available to rural as well as urban entrepreneurs from J&K KVIB.
He also shared performance and highlighted that in 2024–25, 498 PMEGP cases were disbursed involving Rs 1379.92 lakhs of Margin Money (Subsidy) generating 2988 jobs, while 15 JKREGP cases were disbursed with Rs 48.30 lakhs of Margin Money creating 120 rural employment opportunities.
The event witnessed active participation from local gathering interested in modernizing and expanding their livelihoods and entrepreneurship.
The initiative reaffirms J&K KVIB’s commitment to promoting rural entrepreneurship, strengthening village industries, and supporting sustainable economic development.

This awareness camp represents J&K KVIB’s continued commitment to empowering rural entrepreneurship and fostering sustainable economic development in the block. By focusing on traditional industries alongside other village industries, the Board aims to strengthen local economies while preserving indigenous skills and practices. The programme marks another significant step in the Board’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between government schemes and grassroots beneficiaries, ensuring that rural communities have access to the resources and knowledge necessary for economic self-reliance.
The camp concluded with distribution of informative material, booklets and registration procedure to the participants.
