DC B’la , SDM Uri Honoured with Top Army Commendations for Exemplary Leadership During Op Sindoor

Baramulla| : In a remarkable recognition of civil–military synergy and operational excellence, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Shri Minga Sherpa, IAS, has been awarded the prestigious Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Commendation Card and Disc. The honour acknowledges his outstanding leadership during Operation Sindoor and his sustained contribution toward strengthening civil–military cooperation in the strategically sensitive region.

The commendation was conferred by Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, during a special ceremony held at Kathi Post, Nawarunda, Uri.

In the same ceremony, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Uri, Shri Shubhankar Pratyush Pathak, IAS, was also honoured with the GOC-in-C Northern Command Commendation Card and Disc. His recognition comes as a testament to his dedicated service, exceptional commitment, and operational support during Operation Sindoor.

These distinguished honours awarded to the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and SDM Uri underscore the seamless coordination between the civil administration and the Indian Army. They also reaffirm the vital role of civil authorities in ensuring public safety, maintaining strategic preparedness, and facilitating effective execution of critical responsibilities in the border areas.

The awards highlight the continued collaboration that remains essential for safeguarding the interests of the region and strengthening national security.
