Pulwama : Under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr.District& Sessions Judge), Pulwama, Malik Shabir Ahmad and under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Pulwama, Mudasar Farooq, various awareness programmes on “Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens (MWPSC) Act, 2007” were organized across Pulwama.
A total 7 awareness programmes were organized in the entire district out of which one programme was organized by District Legal Services Authority Pulwama in collaboration with District Social Welfare Officer Pulwama in circuit house Pulwama.
On the occasion the main resource person, Chief LADC Pulwama, Mehraj-Ud-Din Wani from DLSA Pulwama highlighted the importance of the event and briefed the audience about the legal rights of parents and senior citizens and role of society in maintaining welfare of senior citizens.
The other awareness programmes with regard to maintenance and welfare Parents and senior citizens Act, 2007 were organized by TLSCs Tral, Awantipora and Pampore with in their respective jurisdictions.
Besides door to door campaign was conducted by PLVs of District Pulwama in far flung areas to raise awareness about the maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens .
