Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested five drug peddlers in separate operations in Anantnag and Pulwama and also seized a significant quantity of contraband substances from their possession.
According to police statement issued here on Monday A police team from Police Post Sherbagh during naka checking at Beig Bagh, Sarnal, intercepted two suspects carrying Pithu bags and upon searches recovered 641 grams of a substance resembling Charas from their possession. The suspects were identified as Abdul Wahid Khan and Amir Yousaf Khan, both residents of Anantnag. In a separate operation at Krangsoo village, police apprehended two individuals who attempted to flee during a patrol. During searches 7.6 kilograms of a Charas powder-like substance were recovered from their possession. The suspects were identified as Kaiser Shakeel Wani and Firdous Ahmad Poya, both from Pehroo. Additionally, in Pulwama, a police team from Police Station Litter arrested a suspect during a naka checking operation at Pirtaki, Litter, recovering 266.5 grams of Charas powder. The individual was identified as Sharik Ahmad Dar, a resident of Litter. All suspects have been arrested and are currently in custody at their respective
