GDC Doda celebrates 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram” with patriotic zeal

Doda : Government Degree College Doda, in collaboration with its NSS Unit, celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the National Song “Vande Mataram” with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebration served as a tribute to India’s cultural identity and the timeless legacy of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, whose iconic composition became the rallying cry of the nation’s freedom movement.

The event commenced with a pledge ceremony, where all teaching and non-teaching staff members reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the ideals of national unity, integrity, and respect for the motherland. The collective recital of Vande Mataram filled the campus with a deep sense of pride, evoking emotions of gratitude and reverence for the sacrifices made during India’s struggle for independence.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Javed Iqbal emphasized that Vande Mataram is not merely a song but a powerful expression of India’s spirit, symbolizing devotion, courage and unity.

The programme concluded in an atmosphere of patriotism and collective harmony, as the participants pledged to carry forward the ideals of love, respect and service towards the nation.

Vande Mataram celebration: GDC Kastigarh commences week-long activities with mass recitation of National Song

Doda : Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College KastigarhFriday organized an inspiring introductory programme to celebrate 150 years of Vande Mataram with mass recitation of the National song.

The event marked the beginning of a week-long celebration aimed at fostering patriotism, cultural awareness and respect for India’s glorious heritage among the students.

Recitation by Faculty Members and Students created an atmosphere charged with national pride and unity. Students were also enlightened about the historical background and literary significance of the song written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, which played a pivotal role in awakening the spirit of freedom and nationalism during India’s independence movement.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra applauded the zeal and participation of the students and highlighted the importance of connecting youth with the nation’s cultural and historical roots.
