Jammu: The Apex Council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today appointed Vidya Bhaskar as a member of the Sub-Committee of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
As per the official communique, he succeeded Mithun Manhas, who was recently elected as the President of the BCCI during its 94th Annual General Meeting held on September 28, 2025.
Bhaskar, a distinguished former First-Class cricketer, represented Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy as a top-order batter and part-time off-spinner.
Over the course of 48 First-Class matches, he amassed 2,178 runs, which included three centuries and twelve half-centuries.
A veteran of the game, Bhaskar has served JKCA in multiple capacities — as a player, captain, selector, and coach — and now embarks on a new chapter as an administrator.
Brig Anil Gupta, Member Administration of JKCA, welcomed Bhaskar’s appointment, calling him an accomplished cricketer whose experience and leadership would greatly benefit cricket operations and development in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Sunil Sethi also extended his best wishes to Bhaskar on his induction into the JKCA Sub-Committee expressing optimism that his appointment would further strengthenS the association’s developmental initiatives.
