Srinagar : In the concluding session of Jammu & Kashmir Assembly, legislators on Friday expressed satisfaction with the proceedings and reaffirmed their commitment to public welfare.
Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather invited members to share their reflections, highlighting the effective raising of public issues. He thanked all members for their constructive participation and smooth conduct of the session. Minister for Health, Education, and Social Welfare, Sakeena Itoo, commended the Speaker for his non-partisan leadership and acknowledged the opposition’s role in holding the government accountable. She emphasized that all responses to queries were prepared with careful consideration to ensure satisfactory answers. MLA M.Y. Tarigami suggested that future sessions should be extended to allow more time for public issues, while MLA Nizamuddin Bhat stressed the importance of maintaining the dignity of the House. MLA Surjit Singh Slathia expressed gratitude to the Speaker for facilitating participation and urged members to observe decorum during debates. MLA Mubarak Gul noted the effectiveness of various legislative tools in addressing important issues and called for the translation of discussions into actionable outcomes. MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Para appreciated the Speaker for accommodating diverse opinions, reinforcing the Assembly’s role as a platform for elected representatives. MLA Farooq Shah highlighted the public’s expectation for their grievances to be addressed in the House and thanked the Speaker for his effective management of the proceedings. The legislators collectively recognized the contributions of the Assembly Secretariat, security personnel, and media representatives throughout the session.
