Srinagar: Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, has urged the party’s newly elected Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament—Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Sajjad Kichloo, and Shammi Oberoi—to leverage their extensive public service experience to represent the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir effectively in Parliament.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday emphasized the importance of advocating for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood at all available forums, both within and outside Parliament, highlighting that this restoration is a fundamental demand of the National Conference and a crucial step towards restoring the region’s rights. Abdullah expressed confidence in the newly elected MPs to uphold the values and legacy of the National Conference, reinforcing the party’s commitment to the struggle for democracy, dignity, and justice for the people of Jammu and Kashmir through democratic and constitutional means. He underscored the significant expectations the people have from their representatives, stressing the duty to ensure their voices are heard and their rights protected.
