JKTPO organizes Export Awareness cum E-Commerce workshop at Pulwama

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) organized Export Awareness cum E-Commerce onboarding drive organized in collaboration with the District Administration Pulwama, ODOP Team, DPIIT, ECGE, APEDA and GeM.

The objective of the workshop was to empower local producers, MSMEs, artisans and SHGs, entrepreneurs by providing them with vital knowledge about export schemes and benefits of digital commerce.

At the outset of the programme, General Manager JKTPO, Shahid Mirza emphasized the pivotal role of JKTPO in organizing the district-level workshop aimed at promoting ODOP sellers and their facilitation on e-commerce platfor

Pertinent to mention here, that Pulwama district, is renowned worldwide for its high-quality Kashmiri saffron, walnuts, honey, and handicrafts, which have been identified under the One District One Product (ODOP) and District as Export Hub (DEH) initiatives for focused export promotion.

The event aimed to connect local producers and artisans with national and international markets through digital platforms and targeted capacity-building sessions, fostering greater visibility and market access for Pulwama’s signature products.

Expert agencies shared valuable knowledge on export schemes and procedures for exporting the products, documentation required therein, and global market opportunities.

Further, more than 100 MSMEs, farmers and entrepreneurs attended the workshop, witnessed enthusiastic participation and actively engaged in discussions and showed a keen interest for onboarding their products on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform.

This initiative is part of JKTPO’s ongoing efforts to promote exports from all districts of Jammu & Kashmir under the District as Export Hub Scheme and the ODOP initiative.

Expert-led sessions covered a wide range of topics including the benefits of exports, branding local products for international markets, export financing options and credit risk insurance schemes to safeguard exporters.
