SKUAST-K holds Vigilance Awareness Prog on “Vigilance Our Shared Responsibility”

Srinagar : A Day-long Vigilance Awareness Programme on the theme “Vigilance Our Shared Responsibility” was organized by the Department of Students Welfare (DSW), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST- K) in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) at the Shalimar campus.

Registrar SKUAST-K, Prof. Azmat Alam Khan was the Chief Guest, while SSP (EOW), ACB, J&K, Zahoor Ahmad Wani, was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

In his address, Registrar of SKUAST-Kashmir, stressed that corruption is not limited to financial wrong doing, but includes even small acts of dishonesty such as granting undeserved marks to students or prescribing unnecessary medicines to patients by a doctor both being forms of ethical compromise. He congratulated the efforts of Department of Dean Students Welfare and Anti-Corruption Bureau for organizing such a meaningful program.

SSP (EOW) ACB delivered an insightful presentation on the ethics of vigilance, underlining the importance of collective responsibility in combating corruption at all levels. He stressed that the awareness among youth about the moral values, ethics and integrity is the need of the hour.

Dean Students Welfare, Prof. S.A. Gangoo, also spoke on the occasion abd underscored the need for collective responsibility in promoting transparency and ethical conduct.

As a part of observance, all participants took an integrity Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to uphold honesty and transparency in their personal and professional lives.

A documentary on vigilance awareness was also screened to sensitize the audience about real-time cases and preventive mechanis

A Kahoot, App-based survey was also conducted, enabling QR code participation from students and staff, to enhance awareness through interactive learning.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers from ACB, Deputy Registrars, staff and students reaffirming the university’s commitment to integrity and transparency.
