DLSA Srinagar organizes Special Lok Adalat to resolve Cheque Bounce & Bank Cases

Srinagar : In accordance with the 2025 calendar of the J&K Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, organized a Special Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Mominabad, Srinagar Saturday.

The Lok Adalat, aimed at amicably resolving Cheque Bounce and Bank cases which was held under the direction of Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, Shazia Tabassum and under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Tasleem Arief.

To facilitate the amicable settlement of cases, 03 benches were constituted for the said Lok Adalat, wherein first bench was presided over by the Additional District Judge (Bank Cases), Kusoom Pandita and Ist Additional District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Anjum Ara. The second bench was presided over by Forest Magistrate Srinagar, Mohammad Ishtiyaq Alam Baba and PT & E Magistrate Srinagar, Massarat Jabeen and the 3rd Bench was presided over by CityMunsiff, Srinagar, Shayesta Nazir and 1st Addl. Munsiff Srinagar, Zirgham Hamid.

Overall 101 number of cases were taken up for settlement out of which 33 number of cases were amicably settled and Rs. 2,64,10,457 was awarded as settlement amount.

The Special Lok Adalat reflects the commitment of the DLSA Srinagar and J&K Legal Services Authority to promote alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and ensure timely justice delivery.
