Srinagar/Dec,26:Light to moderate rain and snow may occur over the northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir from tonight, Skymet Weather reported on Tuesday.
The weather report said that now a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas by tonight.
“This weather system is expected to give light to moderate rain and snow over the northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Srinagar may receive rain but chances of snow over the capital city are very less,” the weather report said.
It said the upper reaches of the state such as Gulmarg and Pahalgam may witness rain and snow.
According to the report, the Western Disturbance will move away but the remnant of this system may continue to give isolated rain over both the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
So far, on and off Western Disturbances have approached the region, but failed to give a significant amount of rain and snowfall activity
