Jammu: Two infiltrators were killed after security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Tuesday.
Officials said that based on specific intelligence input, a joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched in Machil sector on October 13.
Alert troops noticed suspicious movement near the LoC and challenged the infiltrators, who opened indiscriminate fire. In the ensuing gunfight, two terrorists were neutralized.
