New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the release of all hostages by Hamas today after more than two years of captivity and said he supported US President Donald Trump’s sincere efforts to bring peace to the region.
The Prime Minister said the freedom of the hostages stood as a tribute to the courage of their families, the unwavering peace efforts of President Trump and the strong resolve of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He also supported President Trump’s efforts to bring peace to the region.
‘We welcome the release of all hostages after over two years of captivity. Their freedom stands as a tribute to the courage of their families, the unwavering peace efforts of President Trump and the strong resolve of Prime Minister Netanyahu. We support President Trump’s sincere efforts to bring peace to the region,’ the Prime Minister tweeted on X.
Earlier today Hamas released last 20 Israeli hostages under a US-brokered ceasefire deal. Israel confirmed that all hostages had been released. The hostages were taken by Hamas gunmen in an attack on October 7, 2023. However, Hamas has not handed over the remains of about 28 deceased hostages. In exchange for the hostages, Israel has released about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
