Reasi| : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik, a multi departmental team conducted an extensive inspection of the local markets to ensure compliance with food safety standards and to curb unfair trade practices.
The inspection team comprised Tehsildar, EO MC, officials from the Food Safety Department, Police and other line departments. The drive aimed at enforcing hygiene, ensuring availability of quality food items and preventing overcharging by shopkeepers.
During the inspection, the team directed traders to maintain rate lists and display them prominently. Strict instructions were issued to sell safe and good-quality food items to consumers. Any violation of food safety norms will attract appropriate legal action.
The team also took strict action against encroachments by shopkeepers on public pathways, ensuring smooth movement for pedestrians and customers.
Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik emphasized that such inspection drives will continue in the future to promote transparency, public health and consumer rights in the district.
