Says “Revival Of Mahatma’s Teachings key To World Stability, Sewa & Kartavya The Moral Compass for ‘Viksit Bharat’

“Adopt Swadeshi, Buy products made by SHGs & MSMEs. “R&D The Engine for India’s Future, Ensure Nature, Society, Economy Work In Harmony”

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday paid tributes to Pujya Mahatma Gandhi on his Janm-Jayanti. The Lieutenant Governor said the ideals of Bapu are a source of inspiration for the entire humanity and it is the collective responsibility of the society to inculcate the values of non-violence, truth, tolerance and compassion in the young generation.
“We live in a time when global challenges threaten to undermine peace and stability. We must follow the ideals of Pujya Bapu to address contemporary challenges,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor was addressing the UT-level function commemorating the 156th birth anniversary celebration of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, at Srinagar.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor said the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is turning Bapu’s dreams into reality.
“The principles of self-less service-Sewa and Duties-Kartavya to which Gandhiji was committed will guide us in the journey of building ‘Viksit Bharat’. With economic prosperity, we are determined to build a society powered by moral force and based on equity and justice,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor urged the people to adopt Swadeshi and buy products made by Self Help Groups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
“Remember your roots and ageless spirit of India as you chart future course. Society and nature must exist in harmony. Focus on Research & Development. We should also ensure that Agriculture, industry and service sectors are working in harmony for a prosperous economy,” he further said.
The Lieutenant Governor also extended felicitations to the people on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The event, organized by the Department of School Education and Department of Culture, also marked the closing ceremony of Sewa Parv.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the districts and schools for their excellent performance during Sewa Parv. He also felicitated members of Gandhi Global Family, Sant Nirankari Mission and Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign volunteers.
Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo; President Gandhi Global Family, J&K, Padma Dr SP Varma; Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Shantmanu; Principal Secretary Culture, Brij Mohan Sharma; Secretary, School Education, Ram Niwas Sharma; senior officials, heads of educational institutions, teachers, and students in large number attended the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.
