Dussehra celebrated with enthusiasm, traditional fervour in Rajouri

Rajouri | :  The festival of Dussehra was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and traditional fervour across Rajouri district, witnessing vibrant participation from the local community.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma attended the celebrations at the Dussehra Ground and conveyed warm greetings to the people on this auspicious occasion. In his address, the DC underscored the significance of the festival as an enduring symbol of the triumph of truth over falsehood and good over evil, urging citizens to uphold these values in their everyday lives.

The event was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Chander Prakash, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Jhangir Khan and other officers of the district administration.

The celebrations featured colourful cultural performances, the traditional burning of the effigy of Ravana and spirited participation by citizens, marking the culmination of Navratri in an atmosphere of joy, devotion and unity. Adequate security and logistic arrangements were ensured by the district and police administration for the smooth conduct of the festivities.
