JKEDI organises Startup Idea Challenge Boot Camp at Govt Degree College Doda

Doda | :  The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), District Centre Doda, organized a Startup Idea Challenge Bootcamp at Govt. Degree College (GDC) Doda, inspiring young minds to explore innovation and entrepreneurship.

The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, who encouraged the participants to take full advantage of such government initiatives. He also interacted with participants at the idea presentations and emphasized the pivotal role of startups in driving regional and national economic development.

The bootcamp witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 students, with 13 aspiring innovators/teams presenting their business ideas.

Earlier, the program began with a welcome address by Sr. Associate Faculty/Range Officer (DKR), JKEDI Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan, who highlighted JKEDI’s role in building an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Assistant Professor Tanveer Ahmed also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of empowering youth as job creators. Entrepreneur Azhar, CEO of Yazu Digital motivated participants by sharing his personal startup journey.

A comprehensive session on the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27 was delivered by District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Shabir Majeed. He elaborated on various incentives, benefits and support available for budding entrepreneurs. The highlight of the event was the Idea Pitching Session, where 13 participants presented their concepts before a distinguished jury comprising Dr. Majid Manzoor (JKEDI), Shabir Majeed (JKEDI), Tanveer Ahmed (GDC Doda), representatives from DECC, Govt. Polytechnic, ITI, JK Bank Doda and Azhar (Yazu Digital).

Following rigorous evaluation, promising participants/teams were shortlisted for the next round. Certificates of participation were awarded to all idea pitchers by Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan.

The bootcamp provided a dynamic platform for ideation, innovation, and entrepreneurial learning, reaffirming JKEDI’s mission to foster startups and strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Shabir Majeed, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Doda.
