Shopian | : Sewa Parv campaign in Shopian continued with renewed vigour Monday, highlighting cleanliness, health, fitness, and community outreach as core themes.
Multiple departments organized impactful programmes across the district, ensuring strong citizen participation.
MC Shopian,under the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, carried out a drain cleanliness drive in the town. Additionally, a drawing competition at Eternal Success School engaged students creatively, spreading messages of hygiene and social responsibility through art.
In the health sector, Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar programmes were held under which screening and awareness activities were conducted, ensuring community members received guidance on preventive care and wellness.
Similarly, Ayush department conducted health camps under ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan’, focusing on women’s health with diagnostic testing, diet counseling, and yoga sessions to encourage a holistic lifestyle.
Sheep Husbandry department continued its community outreach and awareness drive, with experts sensitizing farmers about modern sheep rearing practices and the benefits of adopting scientific methods for better productivity.
Social Welfare Shopian held an awareness-cum-registration camp at Tehsil Keller, where people were briefed about key welfare schemes including pensions, senior citizen support, marriage assistance, OSC, and child/ women helplines, with on-the-spot enrollment for beneficiaries.
Education department turned its focus on physical and mental fitness, organizing Health and Wellness Yoga & Fitness classes in schools of the district.
Students and teachers actively participated, taking away practical lessons on the importance of balancing studies with health.
These activities once again reflected the spirit of Sewa Parv community participation, service and awareness, bringing together citizens, students, and officials to contribute towards a healthier and cleaner Shopian.
