Reasi| : Continuing the spirit of Sewa Parv, a series of activities focusing on cleanliness, awareness and health were carried out across Reasi District on the 13th day of the fortnight-long campaign. The events are being conducted under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik.
The Municipal Council Reasi, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Reasi, organized a Massive Cleanliness Rally. The rally, which began from District Court and moved through Thapa Chowk and the main market, witnessed enthusiastic participation of municipal employees, legal experts, NSS volunteers, citizens and shopkeepers. With slogan demonstrations and cleanliness activities, the rally spread the message of “Swachhata Hi Seva” ahead of Gandhi Jayanti. The drive covered Wards 3, 4 and 5 of the town.
The Social Welfare Department, Reasi, organised awareness events at Tehsil Social Welfare Office Reasi, Mahore and in Government High School Panassa with around 480 participants. Information was shared on social assistance schemes, including pensions, marriage assistance, scholarships and benefits for senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities and transgender individuals. Awareness on Child Rights and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was also imparted.
Meanwhile, the Rural Development Department continued its three-day special drive for collection and quantification of single-use plastic for IMIS reporting. Awareness sessions on dung management and vermi-composting were also organized in Gram Panchayats.
The School Education Department held Yoga and Fitness Classes across 828 schools with the participation of 50,528 students and staff, aiming to promote physical and mental well-being among young learners.
Adding to the day’s initiatives, the Animal Husbandry Department Reasi organized a Skill development and capacity building program related to Dairy farm management and cattle waste management under Sewa Parv.
These activities highlighted the collaborative efforts of multiple departments and stakeholders in realizing the vision of a clean, healthy and aware society under the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations.
