Rajouri | :  The thirteenth day of the ongoing Sewa Parv was observed across Rajouri district with a series of impactful activities, awareness programmes and community initiatives aimed at fostering social welfare, health, cleanliness, and citizen empowerment.

An awareness programme under ATMA was held at the Sericulture Complex, Thudi, where participants were educated about different sericulture activities. The event also witnessed a plantation drive and a special cleanliness campaign, underlining the twin themes of environmental protection and sustainable livelihoods.

The Labour Department organised an interactive session on labour welfare schemes at Panorama Public School, Rajouri. The Animal Husbandry Department conducted a cleanliness drive at the VAS office, Teryath, contributing to the Swachh Bharat mission.

As part of the commemoration, a documentary screening on the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi was also organised here at GDC Sunderbani inspiring participants to follow the Gandhian principles of truth, non-violence and service to humanity.

Government Degree College (GDC) Nowshera, in collaboration with Sub District Hospital Nowshera, hosted a workshop on “Women’s Health and Hygiene” which saw the participation of about 100 girl students. The workshop included a detailed session by counsellor Anshu Sharma on PCOD, menstrual hygiene and genital infections, while college faculty members delivered lectures on women empowerment, menstrual taboos and hygiene practices.

In Panchayat Patrara of Block Sunderbani, a special awareness drive was conducted on cattle dung management and the benefits of vermi-composting, promoting eco-friendly agricultural practices.

Meanwhile, GDC Thanamandi, in collaboration with 61 RR, organised an awareness rally followed by the Late Harinder Singh Rawat Memorial Cricket Tournament under the Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan. The cricket match between GDC Thanamandi and Traders Club Thanamandi combined sports with a strong message against substance abuse. Govt. PG College Rajouri organised a workshop on Women’s Health and Hygiene followed by free distribution of health related supplements among 300 girls.

The diverse range of activities held across Rajouri district on the 13th day of Sewa Parv reinforced the spirit of collective responsibility, sustainable development and community welfare, bringing citizens closer to the vision of a cleaner, healthier and empowered society.
