Sewa Parv Day 4: Series of cleanliness, awareness & plantation activities organised across Udhampur

Udhampur : As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv campaign, a series of activities were Saturday conducted across Udhampur district with active participation of the allied departments and under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai.
An intensive morning cleanliness drive was carried out in various wards of Udhampur town by the Sanitation Team of Municipal Council.
The Municipal Committee Ramnagar launched an awareness drive on household waste segregation and highlighted the concept of green colonies, encouraging citizens to adopt sustainable practices for cleaner and greener living.
To further strengthen the environmental goals of the campaign, a plantation drive was organized at Amrit Sarovar, Panchayat Chani, Block Majalta, with enthusiastic participation from locals.
In addition, a one-day training programme was organized at Village Katwalt, Chenani, focusing on skill enhancement and community awareness under Sewa Parv.
Chenani Horticulture zone, under the chairmanship of Chief Horticulture Officer, organised a farmers’ awareness camp at Pyt. Katwalt to acquaint the latter with the various departmental schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Horticulture Officer appealed the farmers to come forward and make a plan for planting high density plants of imported varieties for which a good incentive is being given by the department under various UT as well as central schemes such as CAPEX, HADP, PMDC, JKCIP etc. He also elaborated the importance of Value-addition of fruits and vegetables which shall raise the socio economic standard of womenfolk. About 200 farmers besides Ex-Sarpanch and Panches of the area also graced the camp.
Subject matter Specialist Rajesh Gupta briefed the participants about various Departmental schemes and requested them to come forward and avail the opportunity of schemes wherein they can double their income by adopting Diversified farming and assured them that all their genuine demands as per departmental norms shall be resolved.
