Ganderbal | : The Departments of Commerce and Tourism Studies at the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) on Friday organized an investment awareness program titled “Investment Opportunities and Role of NSDL in India” in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The event took place at the university’s Green Campus and was attended by faculty and students from both departments. Mr. Sandeep Puri, Assistant Manager at NSDL, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of understanding investment opportunities in India and the role of NSDL. He raised awareness about the prevalence of scams and frauds targeting individuals through various fraudulent agencies on social media, advising participants to be vigilant and verify investment offers before engaging. Dr. Mehraj ud Din Shah, Head of the Commerce Department, underscored the critical role of investment in driving economic progress, particularly in the current business climate. He expressed gratitude to the university administration, especially Vice-Chancellor Prof. A Ravinder Nath, for their support in facilitating such educational events. Dr. Ashiq Najar, Co-coordinator of the Department of Tourism Studies, highlighted the necessity of such programs to reduce the risk of investment-related scams.
