Baramulla | : Horticulture department, district Baramulla, Thursday organized a one-day awareness-cum-training program under the CAPEX Budget 2025–26 with a focus on information, publication and dissemination.
As part of the program, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Horticulture Officer Baramulla and senior officers of the department were present at the flag-off ceremony.
On the occasion, 100 farmers were flagged-off from across the district in three buses from Dak Bungalow to the Fruit Plant Nursery (FPN) Raipora, Ganderbal, where the main training sessions were scheduled.
Speaking at the event, ACR highlighted the importance of such capacity-building programs in empowering fruit growers with updated knowledge, modern techniques, and best practices in orchard management.
He emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the horticulture sector, which is the backbone of the district’s economy.
The training program will cover multiple aspects including scientific orchard management, plant protection measures, soil health, and awareness about various departmental schemes.
Experts from the horticulture department will interact with farmers, disseminate information, and provide hands-on guidance to ensure better productivity and profitability.
