Kavinder inaugurates refurbished parks in Gandhi Nagar

Jammu: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta inaugurated refurbished public parks in Gandhi Nagar here Saturday.

The upgradation project for these parks has been executed at a cost of Rs 5.45 lakh by the Department of Floriculture.

Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder said parks provide the inhabitants an encouraging environment to exercise, socialize and help promote and maintain healthy lifestyles especially for kids and elderly, senior citizens etc.

He said there are 72 public parks in his constituency and efforts are on to refurbish them with public utilities and recreational facilities for people of all ages.

The Speaker further said the government is laying focused attention to create durable infrastructural facilities in all vital sectors to meet essential requirements of the people including water, power supply, lanes, drains, cleanliness and sanitation.

He informed that works are underway for blacktopping of link roads, constructions of drains in various localities of the constituency.

He asked the people to take care of all public utilities created by the government for their convenience. He also urged the locals to help in maintaining the parks.

Making note of all the concerns brought to his notice by the locals, the Speaker assured to look into the issues and ensure an early redressal of the same. The Speaker was accompanied by senior officers of concerned departments.
