Properties of Proclaimed Offenders Attached under UAPA in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that in accordance with the orders passed by the Special Court designated under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P)A), District & Sessions Judge Baramulla, vide Order No. 122/ASJ/BLA/UAPA dated 02/09/2025, Police executed attachment proceedings against immovable properties belonging to two accused persons in case FIR No. 03/2008 of Police Station Pattan, registered under Sections 2/3 EIMCO Act, Section 121 RPC, and Section 19 UA(P) Act.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that the attachment was carried out under Section 88 CrPC with the active assistance of the Revenue Department, adding therein that the properties were properly identified and demarcated, and due legal formalities, including proclamation and public notification, were completed. Police in its statement further said that attached property belongs to one Mohd Maqbool Sheikh S/o Late Ali Mohd Sheikh R/o Tantraypora Palhallan (presently in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir), measuring 3 Kanals 15 Marlas of land under Survey No. 1947/1767, and Mohd Rafiq Tantray S/o Ab Hamid Tantray R/o Tantraypora Palhallan (presently in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir), measuring 4 kanals 17 Marlas of land under Survey Nos. 1763/1584/2395.
Stating that the action reflects its firm resolve of Police to act decisively against individuals involved in unlawful and anti-national activities Police in its statement further said that process of identifying and attaching properties of such offenders will continue as per due process of law.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to upholdpeace, security and the rule of law in the region.
