Jammu: The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Jammu has embarked on an ambitious initiative to streamline the pesticides supply chain through a state-of-the-art digital platform– Integrated Pesticide Management System (IPMS). The IPMS is equipped with a comprehensive suite of features including Master Data Management, License Management System, Supply Chain Management, Quality and Testing and an Analytical Dashboard, making it a robust digital solution for effective pesticide regulation and monitoring.
In this regard, a meeting was held Thursday at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture Jammu under the chairmanship of Balbir Singh, Director Law Enforcement J&K. He was accompanied by Raju Mahajan, Plant Protection Officer (PPO) Jammu and Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Director Law Enforcement (ADLE) along with officers and staff of the department.
During the session, a detailed training program was conducted on the registration process, registration of production inclusion and supply management under the new system. Distributors were specifically instructed to complete their registration and upload pesticide license data across all districts of Jammu Division within the stipulated timelines.
The meeting witnessed participation from Distributors, Marketers, Dealers and Retailers representing various districts of Jammu Division, ensuring broad stakeholder involvement.
On the occasion, Director Law Enforcement, Balbir Singh addressed the participants, emphasizing that the IPMS will enhance transparency, accountability and efficiency in pesticide regulation, thereby safeguarding the interests of farmers and consumers. PPO, Raju Mahajan elaborated on the technical features of the portal and guided participants on its practical usage, ensuring seamless adoption. ADLE S. Kuldeep Singh highlighted the importance of timely registration and compliance, urging all stakeholders to actively participate in the on boarding process.
The officers collectively urged all participants to adhere to the deadlines to ensure Jammu Division’s smooth on boarding to the IPMS platform, in line with the nationwide rollout scheduled by the Government of India by the end of this month.
