DLSA Srinagar organizes comprehensive legal awareness Prog at Muslim Public School Rajbagh

Srinagar: To sensitize students on pressing social and legal issues, with a particular focus on the Domestic Violence Act and the menace of drug abuse, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Srinagar and Anti-corruption & Human Rights Forum, organized a comprehensive legal awareness programme at Muslim Public School Rajbagh, Srinagar.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Tasleem Arief, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, and conducted under the supervision of Adil Mushtaq, Chief Judicial Magistrate/ Chairman TLSC Srinagar and Sajad Ur Rehman, Sub-Judge and Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.
Addressing the gathering, Secretary DLSA emphasized the critical role of legal literacy in empowering the youth to combat social evils and contribute to a just society.
Consultant on Child Rights focused his presentation on the dangers of drug abuse and its effect with mental health issues, stressing preventive measures and the importance of awareness.
Panel Lawyer, DLSA Srinagar, elaborated on the Domestic Violence Act, explaining the legal protections available to victims and the process for seeking redress.
Students actively and enthusiastically participated in the programme, engaging with the speakers, asking pertinent questions, and showing keen interest throughout the session. Their involvement demonstrated a strong desire to understand the legal framework and their role as responsible citizens.
