Kavinder inspects development works in Gandhi Nagar Constituency

Jammu: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta Friday visited various areas of his constituency and inaugurated several developmental works.

He was accompanied by SDM South, Sonu Pargal, Executive Engineer JMC, Rajesh Sharma, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), Rajan Mengi, Executive Engineer PDD, PD Singh Jamwal and field staff of these departments.

The Speaker visited Gandhi Nagar, Sainik Colony, Trikuta Nagar and Nanak Nagar and interacted with people at these places and also inaugurated and inspected several development works.

He inaugurated newly installed 250 KVA transformer at Sainik Colony the funds for which were provided through his Constituency Development Fund.

The locals at Trikuta Nagar and Nanak Nagar demanded the blacktopping of internal link roads, besides improvement of drainage system in the area.

Interacting with the locals, he said the development works of PWD (R&B), JMC, PDD and PHE have been expedited and the tenders for completing the remaining projects have been called and all the works will be executed in the next calendar year.

“Up-gradation of power infra and prioritizing the road connectivity is high on agenda. The aim is to improve the living standards and make best possible use of the funds provided by the union and state government”, the Speaker asserted.

Earlier in the day, he also inaugurated the remaining work of a community Hall near Shiv Temple at Ward No 21, Gandhi Nagar for which the funds have also been provided through his CDF.

The locals expressed their gratitude to the legislator for taking the issues of general public and fulfilling them on priority.

Multiple delegations from Sunjuwan also called upon the Speaker and presented their concerns including irregularities in power and water supply in the area.

Taking note of the request, the Speaker issued immediate directions to the concerned department officials to initiate necessary action in this regard.
